Event
June 10: Flute, Chinese dulcimer, tar
We are so eager to host this new group of some of DC's best musicians that we'll tuck all six of them onto the Casa Phoenix, and limit the audience.. so get tickets quickly. Doors open at 6:30 for a vegetarian feast (our gift to you - 100% of ticket proceeds go to the musicians). Music starts at 7:30. Leave your shoes at the door; BYOB, and text 202 270-5048 if you'd like to help cook or clean up. Extra love for that this time as it is Susan's birthday concert :) Listen to a bit of LoCréa's music here https://youtu.be/mfV2sbwCS74 Project LoCréa is a new ensemble that performs contemporary arrangements of folk songs from many countries and cultures as well as original music by its members. They are Yana Nikol, flute and vocals (Bulgaria) Maryam, Dinparast Malone, tar (Azerbaijan-Iran) Chao Tian, Chinese dulcimer (China) (Current Artist in Residence at Strathmore) Cristian Perez, guitar (Argentina)(Former Artist in Residence at Strathmore) Daniel Brown, bass (USA) Juan Megna, percussion (Argentina)
