DAMC presents The Carpenter and May Band
Carpenter and May last toured in Scotland a few years ago when they topped the bill and rocked the house at Moniaive Bluegrass Festival. We are thrilled to be hosting these phenomenal Nashville based musicians for a night of great music in Dundee.
The band is made up of IBMA award winning Fred Carpenter on fiddle and vocals - a former member of The Dillards and also Emmylou Harris's band; Tim May on guitar and vocals- with 20 years as a session musician and sideman in Nashville (voted Best Instrumentalist 3 years ago) he has played alongside Patty Loveless and Eddie Rabbit amongst others; Matt Flinner on mandolin - widely recognised as one of the best players and composers around, Matt has played with Darrell Scott, Tim O'Brien, Darol Anger and also The Nashvile Chamber Orchestra; Todd Phillips on Bass - has played with too many greats to mention them all here but they include Tony Rice, Darol Anger, Joan Baez, Del McCoury and Elvis Costello amongst others.
The band members have all spent time in the UK both touring and teaching - most notable at the widely accclaimed Sorefingers Summer School in Oxfordshire.
