Hollywood Heritage Preservation Event: The Last Embrace - One Writer's Love Affair with Hollywood
Hollywood Heritage Museum presents the next event in its ongoing Preservation Series on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 7:30PM. Entitled "The Last Embrace: One Writer's Love Affair with Hollywood" the evening will feature nationally acclaimed author Denise Hamilton. Ms. Hamilton will speak about her book, "The Last Embrace", which is inspired by the real-life disappearance of Hollywood starlet Jean Spangler in 1949 and how the city of Los Angeles has influenced her writings. A L.A. native, Hamilton's books have been shortlisted for the Edgar, Macavity, Anthony and Willa Cather awards. Her debut "The Jasmine Trade" was a finalist for the prestigious Creasey Dagger Award given by the UK Crime Writers Association and the Los Angeles Times named "Last Lullaby" a "Best Book of 2004." Denise is also editor of the Edgar award-winning short story anthologies "Los Angeles Noir" and "Los Angeles Noir 2: The Classics". Hollywood Heritage will host its popular $1 raffle and books will be available to be purchased and signed in the museum shop. This is a FREE event!
