Poem House: the Questionnaire
In this workshop, we will consider how different poem houses work with language. A house could be a list, directions, photographs, instructions, etc.the structure that the poem exists in. These alternative forms continue to appear often in contemporary poetry. We might ask ourselves, how can these constraints in form help or hinderwhat are the possibilities? We will utilize C.D. Wrights poem, Questionnaire in January, as a generative exercise for our own writing, sharing, and discussion. In the second half, we will generate our own questionnaire and work with a peer. Each participant will receive a booklet of poems, text, and miscellaneous inspiration.
