Night Comes On
Angel LaMere is released from juvenile detention on the eve of her 18th birthday. Haunted by her past, Angel embarks on a journey with her 10 year-old sister to track down their father, who they believe is living on Long Beach Island. Dominique Fishback (HBOs The Deuce) gives a tremendous lead performance as a girl, street-wise far beyond her years, determined to find answers and tough enough to absorb the blows that life can deal. Winner of the NEXT Innovator Award at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, first-time director Jordana Spiro skillfully weaves a story that is patient and reveals itself on its own terms.
