Drunk Queer History
A hilarious night full of tragic and uplifting history, Drunk Queer History returns on June 26th, 2018 at Lush Minneapolis. Gadfly Theatre Productions is proud to continue to produce this outrageous and important event in a place thats quickly becoming the Twin Cities leader in queer art and entertainment. A soon-to-be TBA storyteller will be getting hilariously drunk and weaving stories of queer history throughout the night. A team of polished improviserswill take those stories, drunken mishaps, and any off the cuff jokes and run wild with a totally original improv set bearing our queerness and identities in mind. If youve never been to Drunk Queer History, our Pride week show is a great first dance. The stories change every show, so if youve been before, come again to learn totally new queer history and see totally new improv sets.
This event has been called really powerful by former Patricks Cabaret Artistic Director Scott Artley and has previously featured Lisa Marie Brimmer, City Council Vice Chair Andrea Jenkins, and Queertopia curator Chandler Daily among others. Our newest team is thrilled to join those ranks on June 26th. Each Drunk Queer History features a Gadfly choice, where the company picks the story, a storytellers choice where the storyteller will choose, and an audience choice where our intrepid storyteller has choices for the audience to pick from.
This event happens quarterly, and our June show will be one for the books for sure.
