Seams
Restoke create unmissable performances in unusual places. Based in Stoke on Trent, we co-create our performances to share the most important and engaging stories from our communities. We are driven by meaningful engagement and creating opportunities for more people to take part in artistic ventures.
SEAMS Seams is a collaboration between Restoke and academics and writers at Keele University. Last November, Ceri Morgan (Keele University), organised a geopoetics walk in Silverdale Country Park to mark the 50th anniversary of the Aberfan Disaster. Geopoetics is about creative responses to place. A number of the participants wrote about the walk, took photos of the Park, or made sound recordings.
This short performance brings together the writers and their poems and stories, alongside professional and community performers and a bespoke sound score from Restoke.
Following the performance Ceri Morgan will talk briefly on her project - Memories of Mining, which was the catalyst for this performance.
The performance will take place at Keele University Chapel at 6.15pm. Doors will open at 6pm. The performance is seated, but there are no allocated seats numbers. The performance and talk will be finished no later than 7.15pm.
Parking is available on University car parks (pay and display)
Please note: You will not receive a physical ticket, by selecting 'Will-Call' your name will be added to a list which will be checked on the door at the event.
Children - the event is suitable for older children, however the view maybe limited for them, so we recommend arriving early to get seats close to the front.
