Ripple Effects Mapping: Understanding the Impact of Your Organization's Work
Thursday May 31st, 9:30-4:00
Clallam PUD Bldg- Lake Cresent Board Room, 104 Hooker Rd, Sequim

Learn more about a participatory group process designed to document the results of community work within complex, real-life settings. The method, known as Ripple Effect Mapping, uses elements of Appreciative Inquiry, mind mapping, and qualitative data analysis to engage stakeholders to reflect upon and visually map the intended and unintended impacts of your organization's activities. The result is not only a powerful technique to document impacts, but a way to engage and re-energize participants.

During the morning session of this free event, Debra Hansen and Rebecca Sero, faculty members from Washington State University Extension, will demonstrate the power of this methodology by working with a local group, the Peninsula Food Coalition, to map the group's impacts across the Peninsula. Audience members will see the technique in action with a real-life local example. In the afternoon session, the facilitators will train participants in how to conduct this group process for use within your own organization.
Overview

9:30-11:30 The morning session will consist of a facilitated session with Peninsula Food Coalition members to map the impacts of the Coalition's work. This will be done in front of an audience of participants from local organizations that want to learn the technique for use in their own work. Watch and learn from a real-life example!
   11:30-12:00 Lunch is provided
12:00-4:00 Training on the Ripple Effects Mapping technique. The afternoon session is a follow-up discussion and training to learn the skills to conduct this process within your own community organization.
