Shanghaied on the Willamette and The Whateverly Brothers Tribute to Testosterone
With vocal harmonies and a fleet of acoustic instruments, Shanghaied on the Willamette performs songs plundered from land and sea. Their lively music reaches back into maritime traditions, to fishing, paddling, sailing, and to the early days of Portland. Fiddle, banjo, harmonica, bodhran, guitar and mandola blend with voices to tell you a story, make your foot tap, and bring a smile to your face. https://www.facebook.com/ShanghaiedBand/
Based in Seattle, Washington, The Whateverly Brothers grew out of three friends enjoying playing music together. Starting as a maritime music group, they soon followed their wide interests and backgrounds into many styles and genres including full Celtic and Yule sets. Dan Roberts, Chris Glanister and Rob Kneisler, all seasoned folk music collectors, performers, and multi-instrumentalists, have delighted audiences with their varying repertoire, shimmering harmonies, striking arrangements, and offbeat humor. http://thewhateverlybrothers.com/
These two power groups will be combining forces in an exceedingly manly way on Fathers Day for a special evening of maritime music and more at Artichoke Music in Portland, Oregon the heart of Portland's folk music community for nearly 50 Years.
