Take Me With You
"I have a demon. I have a sickness, please cast it out, please ask Jesus to forgive me and make me whole "
In search of lost love, Nikolai drives Sunset Boulevard through the heart of the Californian Dream, as the Book of Revelations meets the glitter of Hollywood in the neon midnight.
A collision of desire and bad religion, classic movies and a large stray dog, set in the City of Angels.
The play was commissioned in 2007 by Central London Arts and premiered at the Drill Hall Arts Centre, London, transferring to Manchesters Royal Exchange Theatre as a flagship production for the Queer Up North Festival, 2007. It marks 20 years of collaboration between Mark Pinkosh & Godfrey Hamilton.
It has recently been filmed for European TV by UK director Charles Sharman-Cox.
"Powerful and poignant, shot through with love and rage Take Me with You is a truly remarkable 70 minutes of theatre - brilliantly performed by award-winning Pinkosh , wittingly and movingly penned by Hamilton, this is a deeply moving yet highly entertaining piece of questioning, adult theatre."
- Kevin Bourke, Evening News (Manchester, UK)
"Passionate humanity that speaks to us all" - Financial Times
"A seductive treat for everyone!" -Time Out (London)
