"Hope from Kesennuma" (Miyagi Japan) - Mixer with people (Tsunami victims) from Kesennuma
To Supporters of Victims ot the 2011 Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and Tsunami!
Mr. Norifumi Sato had a small business at his house in Kesennuma, Miyagi prefecture. He lost everything such as his business, house and money due to the tsunami that followed the Great Eastern Japan earthquake. Fortunately his family survived. For his family and for his pride, he has decided to work on his comeback lite with "Kesennuma Mulberry Tea"business.

Mulberry leaves are known to have multiple health enefits. lt controls blood sugar level and cholesterol, eases constipation, enhances dieting. Kesennuma was a City where sericulture was active long time ago. The land has suitable soil for mulberry cultivation and the leaves which contain a wealth of essential vitamins and minerals grow. He uses only the organic mulberry leaves that the contracted farmers in Kesennuma city and Minami Sanriku cho grow with heart.
We also invite you to support the one of the victims of the 2011 Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Mr. Fumíhide Ogata was a mori-seaweed farmer at Higashi Matsushíma in Miyagi prefecture. On March 11, 2011, he lost most of his seaweed farming plant and equipment due to the tsunami that followed the Great Eastern Japan earthquake. With the help of many generous volunteers and donors, he has been able to reopen his business since the disaster. Mr. Ogata makes premium quality roasted seaweed (yakinori) with excellent aroma and taste.
Mrs. Sato and Mr. Ogata is coming to Seattle to attend "Shout Out to Japan~Cheers from Seattle" an event commemorating the second anniversary of the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and hosted by the Japan-America Society of Washington to be held on March 10, 2013 at the Seattle Center. They will come to our cooking event on 3/9.
