Think Science: Bees
Kids may run screaming from them at a picnic, but bees are nevertheless an important part of our ecosystem. They're the worlds largest pollinator of food crops, and of course, they provide a delicious source of sweet nutrition to humans and Pooh bears alike. But over the past decade, alarming reports have arisen about declines in the bee population worldwide. What would a world without bees look like? Could we even begin to replace the work they do? And on a local level, how can we best ensure bees are free and safe to do Mother Natures work?
Join us at our next Think Science event on Friday, August 17, at noon as we talk to an entomologist, a bee rescuer, and a local beekeeper about these topics and more.
