2018 Southern Foodways Graduate Symposium
The Southern Foodways Alliance, along with the Center for the Study of Southern Culture, the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, and the Graduate School at the University of Mississippi, announce the 2018 Graduate Student Symposium, to be held on the campus of the University of Mississippi in Oxford, September 10-11. Registration at Barnard Observatory begins at 8 a.m. on Monday, September 10, and the event concludes at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11.
This years keynote speaker will be Kyla Tompkins, Associate Professor of English and Gender and Womens Studies at Pomona College, and author of Racial Indigestion: Eating Bodies in the Nineteenth Century.
