When All Was Young - A Charity Concert
Join Kensington Singers & Victoria Park Singers at St Giles-in-the-field, Tottenham Court Road on Thursday 5th July for an evening of beautiful and uplifting choral singing.
Our summer concert features the world premiere of 'Glad Did I Live' - a suite of five commissioned pieces by Nottingham based jazz/choral composer Benny Lee. Glad Did I Live takes a selection of poems by writers including Robert Louis Stevenson, Blake and Kingsley, and sets them in an exciting and tasteful blend of contemporary jazz, folk, gospel and choral. This world premiere will be dedicated to a brilliant charity - 'Music in Hospitals and Care.'
The choirs will also perform choral favourites including Ola Gjeilo's Ubi Caritas, the Kings Singers version of And So It Goes, and the stunning Babe Yetu.
Profits from the concert will be donated to Key Changes - a registered charity who provide music engagement and recovery services in hospitals and the community for people experiencing mental health problems.
Tickets are £10/£8 in advance, and £12/£10 on the door. While we welcome small children to enjoy our music the venue doesnt allow dogs.
