Friends for Benefits
With Wayne Richards, William Stafford, Paul Edward Sanchez and Danit Chetron
About this concert series, Robin Greene-Jacobs says: I started this group with the idea that musicians wanted to contribute to giving to their communities. So I developed a format in which shows could be put together as benefits for various charities. The venues and volunteers offer their services as well and all proceeds go to help whichever group we have targeted. Its a way for us all to give back to our world a little.
Wayne Richards is a national award winning songwriter and a festival favorite. Dave Carter once said, Take a heart as big as the western sky and then completely invent a new mousetrap around it and youll have something like a song by Wayne. Wayne and his band were chosen to arrange the country side of the Portland Trail Blazers theme song. He has won Portland Songwriters Association Song of The Year with Blue and his song So Easy was a winner in the Dallas Texas singer songwriter contest. Positively Entertainment said, This is country heart and soul with a sometimes campy edge as Wayne narrates the stories behind the songs with a great sense of humor. A popular Northwest attraction for nearly two decades."
Paul Edward Sanchez Armed with words and music, award-winning songwriter Paul Edward Sanchez has been fighting the good fight with his original songs over thirty years. Influenced by a variety of musical styles, Paul's music is uniquely his own. His songs contain elements from a wide variety of musical interests, from Bluegrass and Cajun to popular music and contemporary folk, expressing his impressions of the hopes and struggles of the people in the world around him, at times showing off his dry and witty humor, and at others sharing the deeper emotions within himself.
