The Work That Reconnects: Finding Hope when Dreams have Shattered
On this half day workshop we will explore a form of transformative group work pioneered by Joanna Macy, to give us energy and focus to respond to the current challenges faced by our planet. Whether you feel most concerned about climate change, social justice, animal welfare issues or the loss of ecosystems, this day can help resource us to meet these worries head on rather than feel overwhelmed and just hope for the best.
In Joanna Macys own words: The central purpose of the Work that Reconnects is to help people uncover and experience their innate connections with each other and with the systemic, self-healing powers of the web of life, so that they may be enlivened and motivated to play their part in creating a sustainable civilization.
The day will be a flow of practical exercises designed to grow feelings of gratitude and connection, look at how we can overcome feelings of despair and helplessness about the collective mess were in, to see the world with new eyes by changing our perspectives, and to make positive changes towards a sustainable future with positive resolve.
