Thane Maynard presents "Saving Fiona"
On a cold January day in 2017, nearly two months before due date, Nile hippopotamus Bibi gave her keepers at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden a big (little) surprise - a tiny newborn hippo, no bigger than a football. The first premature hippo born and raised in captivity, baby Fiona was an underdog from the start: she couldn't nurse, she couldn't stay hydrated, and she wasn't thriving. But the staff at the zoo knew they could save her. This is the true story of Fiona, the tiny hippo that stole the heart of a city, and the tireless team that saved her life.
*This event has a limited amount of seating. Seating will be first-come, first served. Standing room is available once seats are filled.
**Places for the signing line come free with the purchase or preorder of "Saving Fiona" from Joseph-Beth Booksellers. Places will be assigned based on when tickets are purchased. The earlier tickets are purchased, the earlier your group will be called up to the signing line. You can pick up your order - and learn your signing line group assignment - the day of the event starting at 10 am.
***Those who order and cannot attend the event may pick up their signed copy of "Saving Fiona" the day following the event. You can also call the bookstore at 513-396-8960 to arrange to have it shipped to you. Orders not picked up by 3 months after the event date will be forfeited.
