Twin Talk: Andrew Green, Dustin Laurenzi, Katie Ernst
Join us on Friday, June 29, 2018 for the first ALL performance by Chicago-based improvisational jazz trio Twin Talk, featuring drummer Andrew Green, saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi, and bassist/vocalist Katie Ernst. Tickets $12 in advance online or $15 at the door. Online ticket sales end 1 hour before the show. Doors open at 7:30pm. General admission.

Chicago band Twin Talk has been steadily gaining notoriety for their offbeat melodic approach to creative improvised music. Drummer Andrew Green, saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi, and bassist/vocalist Katie Ernst have focused their creative energies on exploring collaborative musical communication. Much like the phenomenon of cryptophasia ("twin speak") in identical twins, the band shares an ever-expanding musical language that is deeply personal and highly connected.

The three musicians have an affinity for melody and nuance, but the fabled Chicago tradition of improvised music has had its affect on the band. Chicagos legacy of creative improvisers has had a profound influence on the band's defiant risk-taking and spontaneity.

Twin Talk has been featured at the Chicago Jazz Festival, the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, Chicago Music Summit, and tours frequently throughout the US.

"three musicians responding to one another in subtly nuanced ways, and in a music that's as lyrical as it is transparent." - Chicago Tribune

Collaborative trio Twin Talks eponymous release is a cohesive and original album that brims with a vibrant fluidity and a poetic sense. It is simultaneously angular and melodic, and is provocative and enchanting. The members of the trio weave their distinctive sounds into a charismatic collective expression that instead of sublimating their individualities, it highlights them. - Chicago Jazz Magazine
