ESCC Conversation Cafe: Governance Practices - Comparing and Learning What Works
We welcome all board members and executive directors of senior-serving organizations to join us as we delve into several aspects of governance. The conversation cafe will feature themed tables on:
* Finding new board members/nomination committee work and election process
* Chairing the board and running effective meetings to move the board forward (including evaluation of each meeting)
* Incorporating generative discussions at board meetings and how this can support the strategic planning process
* E.D.-board relations and performance management methods (including end of performance review)
* Personnel/human resource management policy development (including the new employment standards)
* Policies and procedures vs bylaws and articles of association
We will have ESCC resources to share at each table and there will be an opportunity for attendees to rotate among tables and get involved in information sharing on each topic. We welcome participants to bring examples of how their organization addresses the various governance topics.
Conversation Cafes are a wonderful opportunity to meet colleagues from similar organizations and to exchange ideas. Networking and peer-to-peer support is an effective way to gain some new ideas to take back to your organization.
Refreshments will be provided and parking is free.
