HAWAIIAN NOISES by Peter Lettre
A woman named Prune played by Rachel Murdy co-creator of The Donkey Show and Connis Avant Garde Restaurant runs a small Hawaiian-themed hotel in the woods near a town called Sandwich. One winter night, a man arrives unexpectedly, pitches a tent and stays, opening up in Prune an untapped fantasy world examining her responsibility in a long-suppressed act of violence and, by a kind of dream logic, her culpability as an American for the misdeeds done by her countrys often violent pursuit of territory.
She is visited by figures central to the founding and conquest of Hawaii: Captain Cook, King Kalaniopuu, President McKinley, Daniel Webster, Queen Luliuokalani, plus a 14 year old surfer named Coralee, Elvis Presley and a pair of pigs named Roger Moore and Sean Connery.
