"THE MUSIC OF NAT KING COLE" AT THE BOSQUE CENTER
Two exceptional musicians will pair for an exciting concert of the music of jazz legend Nat "King" Cole. Coming in from Los Angeles, vocalist/pianist/recording artist John Proulx (pronounced "proo" will sing great lyrics and perform on keyboard in combination with superb guitarist Michael Anthony and a swinging rhythm section. John Proulx is a Grammy-winning composer who has also toured with Natalie Cole! He is a MAXJAZZ multi-recording artist whose most recent CD features a duet with the famed Michael Feinstein. New Mexico Jazz Awards recognized Proulx in 2010 for Best Vocal Performance. With a voice likened to Chet Baker, he has appeared numerously in New Mexico with renowned trumpet player Bobby Shew, including in a tribute to Baker. Versatile guitarist Michael Anthony is well known for his 7 years on the Carol Burnett Show, playing on hundreds of TV and film soundtracks, and has backed stars ranging from Tony Bennett to the Beach Boys. Bass player Colin Deuble and drummer Cal Haines complete the quartet.
