Effective Planning For Centralized Mail Delivery Equipment
This introductory course will provide all the basic information necessary to effectively specify centralized mail delivery in new construction for multifamily residential, commercial office buildings, and institutional facilities, such as residence halls, or student/military housing as required by the US Postal Service. It will include an overview of the different types of centralized mailbox equipment, recommended applications, detailed information on current equipment standards, and accessibility considerations.
Objectives: At the end of this course, participants will be able to: Summarize to clients the five main benefits of centralized mail delivery and why it is required by the US Postal Service (USPS).
Recognize the need for proper planning in Section 10 Postal Specialties and efficiently update master specifications.
Specify the correct centralized mail delivery equipment to meet mailbox and parcel locker requirements.
State the mailbox installation specification differences between the USPS, American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Fair Housing Act (FHA).
