Cooking for Compassion and Health: Mexican Made Easy
Craving hearty and flavorful Mexican food? Tired of attempting to order vegan restaurant food, only to find out they make their rice with chicken stock, beans with lard, and guacamole with sour cream? (< Why, Tres Hombres, why?)
Have you thought about making your own scrumptious vegan Mexican food at home, but gave up before you started because you thought: Do I really need so many different spices? What the heck do I do with chili peppers? Can it still taste good without cheese and sour cream?
If so, this small, hands-on class is for you! We will learn to prepare a few Mexican favorites that you can whip up anytime, and even be proud to share with your meat-loving family & friends. We will also learn to make those crucial toppings, including sour cream, nacho cheese, and a sweet cream drizzle. (**Please email the instructor ASAP if you have a nut allergy.**)
Many of the recipes were using are based on the cookbook Fuss-Free Vegan, by Sam Turnbull, which you can buy ahead of time on Amazon Prime for around $16.
Class is limited to 8 people. $15 fee covers the cost of ingredients and handouts. Participants will enjoy a hearty delicious lunch, and might even get to take home leftovers, so bring a container!
