A musical, multimedia-performance about Displacement by Carrie Beehan
This piece explores when Immigrant Artists leave their quiet rooms of contemplation.
Your journey starts in 1978 from behind the Iron Curtain, taking you to the underworld of London's Kings Road. From there, tune in to a Broadcast Newsroom in Berlin, Germany, surrounded by mural-heavy walls in 1984. Visit Jazz and Dance clubs in the 1990s and observe Tanks and Elephants at European Borders. Finish in the present day exploring children's mural painting on the Mexican Wall in 2017.
With Vit Horejs, Harlem Lafayette, David Patterson, Drea, Gretchen DJCherishtheluv, Baer, Ben Watts, KIka Von Kluck.
With a riveting, unique, elegant sound, New Zealand-born Carrie Beehan, specializing in musical performance-art, has been described as a mix of Lana Del Rey, and Tom Waits, Beehan's debut 1998 electronica album Tryst/Tryst (BMG/Universal) featured on MTV and international radio. Her second album topped online radio charts dueting with legendary funk bassist/vocalist T.M. Stevens Her Art-Films are included in the 2012 Cannes, Art Video International Film Festival's permanent catalog. Her current album, Alazon In The Quiet Room (BNS Sessions/Cargo Records UK) is co-produced by Oscar & Grammy-winning producer Robert L. Smith. Beehan's work has been presented at The Lincoln Center Summer Stage, Queens Museum of Art, HOWL and Figment Festivals NYC, Babelsberg Studio Potsdam, Chameleon Theater Berlin, the Prague National Gallery, Culturehub La MaMa and more.

Downtown's intimate supper-club Pangea is the ultimate in alt, playing home to some of the best in alt cabaret. The New York Times recently called it a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Max's Kansas City from days gone by."
