Spend those hot summer nights at The Side Yard Farm every second Wednesday of the month this summer. Join us on Wednesday, June 13th to kickoff our 5th season of Bike in Movie Nights. We started movie nights in order to bring community together and spotlight some really talented artisans here in Portland. This June we are celebrating women! This lineup of women are changing the Portland food and beverage scene and we are excited to host them. Enjoy crafty cocktails by Public Provisions and delicious slices of pizza by no other than Red Sauce Pizza. We also have a special treat for you all. The ladies behind Wildflower Baking will be serving up some sweet treats. Since we are celebrating badass women, we will be showing 'The Legend of Billie Jean', a 1985 classic with Helen Slater. "Fair is fair!" Did I mention you should ride your bike?! It's a bike in movie ya'll. Ticket includes admission, food, cocktail, a sweet treat and supporting these lovely women owned businesses.
PUBLIC PROVISIONS Public Provisions develops cocktails with distinct Pacific Northwest flavor. Operating out of Portland, Oregon, our team brings elevated culinary awareness to each glass for events along the West Coast. Driven by the seasons, we construct and curate menus with fresh and delicious ingredients. Our extensive experience in beverage production guides our craft as we bring simplicity and sophistication to your event. Founded by Melanely Schmidt and Malia Meyers.
RED SAUCE PIZZA Shardell Dues's first job was making pizza and it will be her last. She began making pizza in 1998 at Vancouver Pizza Company. She worked her way through a bunch of other pizzerias including Apizza Scholls, where she ran the kitchen there for four years. Red Sauce Pizza is welcoming to all, first and foremost. They do full table service and really want to make their guests feel welcome! They offer dine-in, take out, and delivery through Caviar. The pies are made from a poolish, which is a preferment and baked in a hot electric Baker's Pride oven. So that crust has a crunchy chewy texture and some superficial char.
WILDFLOWER BAKING Wildflower Baking are two bakers, Emily & Gillian are from some of Portland's best bakeries growing a whole grain baking business in hopes of creating a more cooperative food system. They work with growers and millers of Pacific Northwest grains, sustainable and organic farmers, and source their dairy and eggs from the Willamette Valley. They are inspired by the the cycle of the seasons and methods of natural food preservation- making jams, fermenting, pickling, etc. Both of them are home gardeners, and we sometimes grow things from seed to share our harvest with you! Both consider themselves to be hardworking, strong willed women who have always gone after what we want in life.
