MOLLY BLOOM
Molly Bloom, a very lonely woman is grappling to make sense of her life and relationships as she lies awake in bed. Four women perform Mollys stream of consciousness, weaving contemporary movement and context with the lyricism of the final chapter of James Joyce's Ulysses. We invite you inside Mollys mind as you watch her thoughts dance before you. Which thoughts are our own? What are we taught to think? Are we ever fully free, even in our minds? Come confront your own thoughts in this unapologetic piece of experiential theatre.
Fourth Gorgon Theatre has adapted a text thats been isolated to literary pretension and made it relatable and fun with a rich and personal physical language. Molly Bloom is a century year old story that remains startlingly relevant, deeply vulnerable, and human. Molly Bloom began as the subject of a text analysis course. This was the groups introduction to the rich text of Joyce, and formed the projects foundation and inspiration. Since 2015, Molly Bloom has evolved through two staged readings and a physical workshop adaptation. Molly Bloom was an official selection of the In The Soil Festival in April 2018.
