Romeo and Juliet - Caedmon Hall, Gateshead
In a dystopian world not too far ahead of our own, earth is broken and people are suffering, while a hidden power watches their every move. Against the odds, a boy and a girl find each other and vow to escape.
Mortal Fools with Collingwood School & Media Arts College present an abridged version Shakespeares classic story following two star crossed lovers on a mission to be together and free, in a world that wants them to be a part.
This performance is part of 'Future Ready', a programme developed from two years partnership between Mortal Fools and Collingwood School. This project uses theatre-making as a vehicle to develop confidence, aspirations and social and emotional skills of young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to prepare them for the transition from education into adult life.
Running time: approx. 75 minutes (no interval) Age recommendations: 12+ Cautions for those with additional needs: involves blackouts, flashing lights, some loud noises and music
