Going Deep: A Series of Backcountry Decision Making Workshops. Session #4
Title: Session #4 Backcountry Risk Management and Communication: Lessons from the Aviation Industry
Goal: To provide a means of ongoing education and improvement in the decision making processes of experienced backcountry travelers.
Summary: Join us for an evening with Julian Pridmore-Brown, Deputy Director of the Wallowa Avalanche Center, commercial pilot and FAA-designated pilot examiner, as he leads an interactive workshop on how backcountry travelers can improve decision-making and communication by using techniques from the aviation industry.
Other Details: This evening is geared towards to people who have some backcountry experience to those who are seasoned backcountry travelers. Skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, and snowmobilers who are looking to improve their decision making skills are encouraged to attend. Previous avalanche training, such as an avalanche level 1 or 2, is recommended, but not required.
