Laughter Is the Best Medicine
Laughter is the Best Medicine
The Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center is planning an enjoyable evening of humor and insight with Pittsburgh's own, Rob Rogers. Originally trained as a classical artist, Rob will share with us his creative process in political cartooning. He is an award-winning editorial cartoonist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and his work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today and Newsweek, among others.
Rogers was the curator of three national cartoon exhibitions: Too Hot to Handle: Creating Controversy through Political Cartoons (2003) and Drawn To The Summit: A G-20 Exhibition Of Political Cartoons (2009), both at The Andy Warhol Museum, and Bush Leaguers: Cartoonists Take on the White House (2007) at the American University Museum. His work received the 2000 Thomas Nast Award from the Overseas Press Club, the 1995 National Headliner Award, and numerous Golden Quills. In 1999, he was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
Share the Laughs and Support A Good Cause
Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center (PPC) has over 52 years of service in the community of Pittsburgh. PPC provides arts programs, mental health conferences, and services to children and families. The Center is one of more than 40 institutions affiliated with the American Psychoanalytic Association, and is the only accredited program in Western Pennsylvania. The event will draw our faculty of professional doctors, psychologists and social workers and their colleagues. It will also include prominent members of our community and persons on our Board of Directors.
In addition, Raina's Catering will provide the fare and flair to enhance the evening's culinary enjoyment not to mention the special cocktail created with sponsorship from Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka. Don't miss this exceptional event!.
We have created sponsorships for those groups that would like to support the event and attend. Your tax-deductible donation will earn approximately 5500 views (not including any forwards of the invite or announcements) of your company by well-educated, professional, local Pittsburgh residents. We know that many are feeling the tightening of the economic situation; therefore we have tried to create levels of sponsorship that are amenable to all budgets.
We hope that you will consider becoming a sponsor of our program and helping PPC to provide quality education programs, mental health services in the community, and outreach programs to the arts community.
Our organization holds only one fundraising event a year which aids our all-volunteer faculty in providing greater outreach to the community and enhances the local cultural and arts environment in a way that benefits Pittsburgh as a choice for one of America's best places to live year after year!
Contribution Levels: These include ticket(s) and donation to PPC to support our regular activities.
