Elisabeth Beckwitt at The Spot on Kirk
Born and raised in Boston, MA, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Elisabeth Beckwitt writes songs of hope and understanding for the unheard.
Throughout her life Elisabeth struggled with severe anxiety and depression which led her to seek professional psychiatric assistance from McLean Hospital. The help she received gave her the tools she needed to make it through a difficult time in her life while also teaching her to manage her diagnosis.
Using her clear, powerful voice, Elisabeth weaves stories from her life and the lives of those closest to her into songs that are both relatable and encapsulating. It is her hope that by being open about her disorder and sharing her personal struggles, she can help to erase the stigma that is oftentimes associated with mental health.
In April, Elisabeth released a music video for her track One More, a project that serves to open up a dialogue for those struggling with addiction of all types. Currently, Elisabeth is hard at work preparing for the release of her next EP which she hopes will continue to break down the stigma around topics like depression, sexual identity, and mental health medications.
