Raw Materials Series A (2018 Fury Factory)
Once every two years, foolsFURY stages an electrifying gathering of collaborative theater makers from around the country, a truly national hub for ensemble theater work on the West Coast.
The Raw Materials portion of the festival presents works-in-progress from some of the most innovative devised theater companies, both locally and from across the nation. This is a rare opportunity for new work to gain critical feedback through performance and audience engagement, and audiences get to see multiple artists creations for a single ticket price.

Felonious (San Francisco, CA) Curren$y (hip hop Merchant) Felonious uses rhythm and rhyme to flip religion, sexism, xenophobia, legal status, gender, and privilege inside out over a live beat. We use Shakespeares characters as containers, to anchor ourselves at the dawn of the 17th Century only to find eerie echoes of present day America. Sometimes it takes more than a pound of flesh. Curren$y is an all-female rap show based on The Merchant of Venice. Featuring rappers and actors performing with a live hip band, this 30-minute selection brings you inside the world of Venice City, a bustling metropolis filled with chaos and divisions. The city is changing. Class and religion divides us. Hate and fear fuels our ignorance. And money is what drives us all.
