"The power of sports in the most dire circumstances."

CRIME OF THE BIG LEAGUES
Directed by: Randy Field
11 min (US)
2016

Uses an interview with Lester Rodney (93 at the time) plus excerpts from some of his incendiary articles to tell the story of how this little Jewish/communist sportswriter beat the drum louder than anyone to desegregate Major League Baseball and how he succeeded!

MICAH ABERNATHY
Directed by: David Brand
4 min (US)
2017

A Tennessee Football Player with a unique family history faces the pressures of upholding his family name.
With such a history come expectations, and the unique responsibility to uphold the family name.
Micah Abernathy plays football for Tennessee. He also plays for the name on the back of his jersey. A name with a profound legacy in American history. He is the grandson of Ralph David Abernathy, Martin Luther Kings best friend and confidant.

THE BLACK 14
Directed by: Blake Berson
44 min (US)
2017

It had been written into the lore of the Mormon faith that African-Americans could not be admitted to the priesthood because of the relationship between Cain and Able.

Underneath the backdrop of the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s, the 14 Black players decided to wear black armbands with a 14 on it in protest of BYU policies and the way they felt they had been treated. When it was posed to Eaton on the Friday before the game, the head coach immediately threw all the Black players off the team, saying they had defied him.

TONY WRIGHT - FINALLY FREE
Directed by: Sarah Kazadi
9 min (US)
2017

Tony Wright spent over two decades in prison for a crime he didnt commit. Surviving this ordeal meant desperately holding on to faith, family and football. This is his story of resilience. By sharing Tonys story, we hope to shed light on the very real and personal effects of injustice, while inspiring viewers to persevere, and showing the power of sports in the most dire circumstances.
