OIGC and SKRUK: Roots from the West
The partnership between Bay Area's award-winning Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir and SKRUK, hailing from Norway as a groundbreaking force in Scandinavian choral music since 1973, came to life in 2015 at the Molde International Jazz Festival.
The project, "Roots," is based around the fact that, despite cultural differences between the American and Norwegian west-coasts, we have common spiritual roots.
The concert will feature the two choirs singing individually and together. The latter is set to be a truly exciting unison, and as SKRUK's director Prots says; "a new musical latte!"
We have every reason to believe that this "latte" is something that every audience will enjoy.
OIGC and SKRUK are honored to be joined by the Allen Temple Unity Choir for this concert.
