Originally from Mumbai, Pratik Motwani is an Actor/Theatre Maker/Theatre Educator with a specialization in eastern and western forms of mask performance technique and devised physical theatre. He holds an MFA in ensemble based physical theatre from Dell'Arte International (Blue Lake, CA) where he now works as a resident artist, teacher and company member. #//<EMBEDDED>//# is a multimedia piece of digital comedy which combines Film Projection, GIF Animation, Prezi Presentation and Physical Theatre.
A peek into the outrageous and hilarious broadcasting room of a you-tube cyber celebrity - A personification of a virtual identity stuck within the regulating algorithms of a social media platform, floating somewhere in the inter-webs of cyber space and time:
A world desperate for real connection.
A world from which it is impossible to disconnect
A world in which all connection/communication happens only via a Wall.
An introspection on notions of identity and image, reality and perception, our need for real connection and inclusion coupled with our inability to disconnect ourselves from the virtual world (and our virtual identities in it).
A revolt against all such virtual identities and virtual walls - of race, color, gender, class, religion, nationality etc that we build or are systematically imposed upon us that divide, separate, exclude, regulate and restrict us from real connection and access to ourselves and each other. www.embeddedtheshow.com
One of the most exciting theatrical events in San Francisco Bay Area, the FURY Factory is a national hub for ensemble theater work on the West Coast. Staged every other year by foolsFURY theater company, it features: Mainstage productions of fully crafted works by some of the countrys most innovative, exciting theater makers, Raw Materials Polished sections of new works in development, Workshops in creation techniques led by participating artists and other master teachers, as well as panel discussions and more.
Once every two years, we stage an electrifying gathering of collaborative theater makers from around the country. We are thrilled to announce this years line up!
