Summer Camp: WORDS AND PICTURES - Comics 101
July 9-13, 2018 9:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday
Instructor: Lin Lucas Students entering grades 5-8
Comics, manga, graphic novelscombining words and pictures together to tell amazing stories is what its all about. In this step-by-step class, young cartoonists will learn the basics of character design, story development, page layout, penciling, editing, and inking techniques through fun, challenging explorations designed to inspire creativity and ignite a desire to write and draw stories.
BIO Lin Lucas is a multi-talented artist who not only works and teaches in the realm of comics, but also in dance, theater, and storytelling. Lin has taught visual and performing arts for numerous schools and arts organizations in the Seattle and Portland area. Lin has a BA in elementary education and served as Diversity Coordinator while on faculty at the Northwest School. He brings a social justice lens to all of his work with students.
