Lisa Geduldig and El Rio Present... Comedy Returns to El Rio!
Comedy Returns to El Rio! is a popular monthly comedy show (every 3rd Thursday of the month) that just won Best Comedy Night by The Bay Area Reporter!
The show, co-produced by Kung Pao Kosher Comedy's Lisa Geduldig and El Rio, is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this month with a stellar comedy line-up and a post-show party with food! The show takes place at El Rio in San Francisco's Mission District and showcases an eclectic, mix of intelligent, progressive comedians from the Bay Area and beyond.
The TENTH Anniversary Show on Thursday, May 17th features Diane Amos, Ngaio Bealum, Mark Pitta, Bob McIntyre, and Lisa Geduldig.
Diane Amos is a San Francisco-based actress, improv artist, and comedian who is known as The Pine Sol Lady for having starred in their national commercials for over 20 years. She has appeared in numerous films including Nine Months, Copycat, Angels in the Outfield, EDTV, Twisted, and Woody Allens Blue Jasmine. Diane was a semi-finalist in Star Search, has been on A& E's Evening at The Improv, Lifetime's Girls' Night Out, and Comedy Central's Women Aloud. She has also been a winner on the game shows: Wheel of Fortune, $25,000 Pyramid, and Super Password. She was raised in SF by two lesbian mothers and attended Washington High School in the Richmond District, where took an improvisational comedy classand the rest is history.
Ngaio Bealum uses his great storytelling ability, razor sharp wit, and engaging stage presence to leave audiences howling with laughter. He has earned a 5-star rating on Ticketmaster.com and has appeared on ABC, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, and many other TV programs. He has opened for Dave Chappelle and Weird Al (but not at the same time) and is also a regular guest on The Doug Benson Podcasts. Ngaio is constantly on the road and has headlined comedy clubs and performed at music and arts festivals all over the country.
Mark Pitta is a veteran comedian who has appeared on The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, NBC, FOX...you name it. He's a returning performer in Las Vegas and on the Holland America Cruise Line. Mark is the former host of KTVU TV's popular Mornings on 2. This likable comedian will have you laughing at his observations on life, celebrity impressions and his knowledge of rock bands. www.MarkPitta.com Bob McIntyre, a favorite at Comedy Returns to El Rio is a San Francisco-based waiter, comic, and occasional actor who is currently binge watching his recently purchased 38-disc, 325-episode Mary Hartman Mary Hartman box set. He currently sees everything in shades of avocado green, mustard yellow and burnt orange with a waxy yellow buildup. He is single.
Lisa Geduldig is a local comic and comedy producer who's the creator, producer, and MC of a variety of comedy shows including Kung Pao Kosher Comedy™ (which celebrated its 25th Anniversary last December); Funny Girlz: A Smorgasbord of Women Comedians; The Color of Funny: A Multi-Cultural Comedy Show; and A Muslim, A Mormon, and A Jew Walk into A Bar: The Comedy of Religion. She has recently started another monthly comedy show, Comedy at Ashkenaz! on the second Thursday of the month at Ashkenaz in Berkeley. Lisa moonlights as a bilingual (Spanish-English) publicist.
Must be over 21 as it's a bar.
This month's tickets cost $15 to $25 (sliding scale, whatever you want to pay), rather than the usual $10 to $20 and will include a post-show party with food!
