PRESENTATION: GC/CM Cost Estimate Reconciliation
As General Contractor / Construction Manager (GC/CM) becomes more popular, it is essential for Project Control practitioners to identify and address challenges associated with this contract delivery method. This presentation focuses on the cost estimating aspect of Project Control. We will discuss issues that can, and will most likely occur, and how to overcome them.
PRESENTER: John Barrett Newman, CCP CEP
John graduated from the University of Washington in 2004 with a degree in Construction Management and has spent most of his career as a cost professional. He has worked in numerous industries ranging from vertical construction, oil & gas, aviation to link light rail. His current assignment is Lead Cost Engineer on Sound Transits East Link Extension (ELE) and was involved during estimate reconciliation of E130 and E335 contracts, both GC/CM. In addition, John is an active member of AACEs Seattle Section and was once our Section President.

COST:
The member price for this event is $32.00 if you register before 12:00 Noon on the Monday immediately preceding the meeting; late registration is $37.00.
Non-members price is $39.00 before 12:00 Noon on the Monday immediately preceding the meeting, and $45.00 thereafter.
Please note that registration will be closed Monday, May 7th, at 8:00 pm.
A very limited of first come first served meals will be available at the door.
MENU:
Hales Ale Troll Porter Braised Short Rib, the Zaatar and Lemon Roasted Chicken Breast, and Vegetarian (requires one week advance notice).

The AACE Seattle Section must pay for all meals that are ordered. If you RSVP that you will attend, you are responsible for the bill of your meal. In addition, if you attend without an RSVP there is a possibility that your meal options will be limited from those listed above. AACE Seattle Section meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from September through May (excluding December). Each meeting with a technical presentation qualifies for .25 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) towards your CCP/CEP/CFCC/DRMP/EVP/PSP recertification requirements.
