Yes, Maam Circus is a new circus company located in Chicago, Illinois. Its current project is a plot-driven circus show based on Paradise Lost. The show is scheduled for mid-May 2018 in Logan Square and updates will be posted here when tickets become available. For now, enjoy pictures and videos from our act creation process and past performances. Pieces of the show have been performed at MSAs Fly By Night and Alofts Communion.
Based on Milton's Paradise Lost, this show tells the story of Lucifer's Fall from Grace, and the subsequent battle in Heaven. Lines are drawn, sides are chosen, and old friendships are tested. It's angel vs angel in this visually thrilling piece.
The company currently consists of Amancay Kugler, Athena Giles, Maggie Karlin, and Myriam Bloom. Maggie and Amancay are graduates of the Aloft Circus Arts Full Time Training Program (2015-2016), where they majored in Chinese Pole and Lyra, respectively. Athena and Myriam both graduated from the Actor's Gymnasium Pro-Training Program (2016-2017) with majors in Lyra and Tumbling, respectively.
