CrossCURRENT 2013
The exciting young singers of Underworld Productions Opera premiere new works side by side with favorite arias from the bel canto tradition. Contemporary works by Thomas Deneuville, Wendy Griffiths, Henry Papale, Corinna Manetto, Ben Yarmolinsky and Michael Dutka, including the 15-minute chamber opera "Black Horses" based on a story by Luigi Pirandello. Instrumentalists include Evan Flath, guitar; Kostja Kostic, clarinet; and Elizabeth Rodgers, piano. Singers include Lauren Alfano, Tara Bobiak, Hillary Esqueda, Bill Heigen, Elise Jablow, Stephanie McGuire, Rachel Policar, Miran Robarts and Briana Sakamoto. Directed by Gina Crusco.
