Performing on Sunday, March 10, 2013: "CHAGALL TRIO" Jenna Richards, Alessia Disimino and Beth Silver
Based in Toronto, the Chagall Trio consists of violinist Alessia Disimino, cellist Beth Silver and pianist Jenna Richards. The three members of the group are all completing Bachelor of Music degrees in Performance at the University of Toronto. The Chagall Trio is in demand throughout Ontario, recently giving performances as part of "The Gift of Music" chamber concert series (Creemore), numerous performances at the "Rising Stars" noon-hour series (Toronto) as well as multiple performances at the University of Toronto. The Chagall Trio has had the opportunity to work with such incredible artists as Timothy Ying, Menaheim Pressler, The Gryphon Trio, and Ensemble Made in Canada, among others. The Chagall Trio also enjoys educational outreach, and was asked to program for and perform a children's pre-concert for the Toronto Symphony's Young People's Concert series on Saturday afternoons. The trio's namesake is painter Marc Chagall, who was especially noted for his use of color in paintings and stained glass. One of his most famous works is the painted ceiling of the Paris Opera House, while other esteemed paintings depict musical instruments, including "The Fiddler".
