Canada's Andrew Collins Trio
Toronto's Andrew Collins finds himself through no actual fault of his own at the epicenter of Canadas burgeoning acoustic/roots music scene.
Nominated five-times Canada's prestigious JUNO Award and seven-time recipient of the Canadian Folk Music Award, mandolinist Collins has become a major contributor, having co-founded seriously noteworthy Canadian bands like the Creaking String Quartet, the Foggy Hogtown Boys and, now his own Andrew Collins Trio.
As he gathers up innumerable awards and nominations by these various ensembles, Collins, whos comfortable on mandolin, fiddle, guitar, mandola, mandocello and vocals, showcases a popular collision of bluegrass, folk, jazz, classical and swing with his beloved trio: Mike Mezzatesta on guitar, mandolin, fiddle and mandola, and James McEleney, on bass, mandocello and soaring harmonies.
Don't miss this special Chicago-area stop for this dynamic, compelling group!
