Annie Capps. Amy Petty, Sam Corbin and Mark Jewett
With her sweet, wry perspective on things, Annie puts herself and a host of other subjects on a laboratory slide, peers in close and makes discoveries that ring satisfyingly true, winning over audiences and earning a host of Detroit Music Award nominations over the years.
Capps has a way of starting a song with an image thats simple, yet arresting enough to propel you through the ensuing developments, which often covers quite a bit of territory. Jim Manheim, Ann Arbor Observer.
[Annie] sings with a relaxed, clean Midwestern twang, sliding you into the middle of lives and situations that are always interesting and dotted with real insight. Dave Siglin, The Ark
Amy Pettys sound and songwriting are compelling, complex and original soundscapes weaving a lush tapestry of folk, pop, rock and blues.
Art, mystery, and spirituality influence and infuse her poignant, evocative and sensual songs. These sonic canvases showcase the heartfelt emotion behind her lyrics and provide a foundation over which her voice and choral harmonies soar.
Amy has performed at such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Club Passim (Cambridge MA) and Tupelo Music Hall (Londonderry NH), among others. She has shared the main stage with artists like Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Andrea Corr, Darlene Love, Suzanne Vega, Loreena McKennitt, Steve Van Zandt, and Melissa Ferrick.
Sam Corbin is an Ypsilanti based performing songwriter and member of the Earthwork Music Collective. With influences ranging from the thought provoking troubadours of Greenwich Village to the soul singers of Detroit, Sam writes honest and meaningful songs drawn from day to day life. His third and most recent album titled Let The Fire Burn Strong released in the early winter of 2016 was named by John Bommarito (Ann Arbors 107.1 FM) as his #1 album of 2016.
Sam started playing guitar at 16, and shortly after graduating high school he joined a band, playing shows at local bars and coffee shops. Over the years music became his passion, his lifestyle, and his outlet for creativity. It has taken him on the road to music festivals and theatres, radio stations and television, listening rooms, and smoky bars. He has traveled and performed in many states across the East Coast, Midwest, and the South. In 2010, Sam joined the Earthwork Music Collective, a group of musicians working together to build community and self-awareness through the art of music in the state of Michigan and beyond.
Mark Jewett is a Detroit area singer-songwriter. His work has been twice recognized by American Songwriter Magazine (2015 and 2017 Lyrics Contests) and twice by the For Song Sake Songwriting Challenge as (2013 and 2012). His listeners have noted similarities in his songwriting and delivery styles to a variety of artists, including Paul Simon, Willie Nelson, Jesse Winchester, Slaid Cleaves, Nick Lowe, and Michael Franks. While his music tends to defy any strict genre definition, you are likely to hear influences from folk, rock and pop to country and blues if you listen closely.
After decades of experience in bands as a singing bassist, he released a solo EP in 2011 and followed up the full length album, Tending The Fire, in 2016.
