Wild Honey Film #2: "Along For The Ride" (A new documentary about Dennis Hopper) & Live Music-Chris Price
To kick off Wild Honey Foundation-the Backyard Shows' 2018 music & movie series, Wild Honey Presents a benefit screening of director Nick Ebeling's 2017 Dennis Hopper documentary "Along For The Ride" (8 pm) and special musical set by acclaimed singer/songwriter/producer Chris Price (6:30 pm).
Donation to benefit the Autism Think Tank is $10 or $30 with unlimited food and drink (non-alcoholic). Please RSVP to insure a seat!
THE MOVIE: Variety magazine says: The elegantly shot and revealing documentary Along for the Ride kicks off with a close-up look at the making of The Last Movie, then goes on to chronicle the remainder of Dennis Hoppers career as a dissolute aging bad boy: his exile from Hollywood, the lost weekends that stretched into lost years, his hard-won comeback as a director (Out of the Blue, Colors), his classic and mesmerizing performance in Blue Velvet.
Featured in the documentary are new interviews with Russ Tamblyn, Dean Stockwell, Dennis best friend' Satya de la Manitou, Larry Schiller, David Lynch, Wim Wenders and many vintage clips. Soundtrack by Gemma Thompson of The Savages. After the screening, director Nick Ebeling will be interviewed by Pat Thomas.
