Baroquelyn is a professional, Brooklyn-based ensemble founded and led by Aleeza Meir. We are dedicated to bringing exciting music back home to local communities. We include colleagues from all over NYC and beyond, but our core is made up of first class players who have a connection to Brooklyn.
We are based out of historic Old First Reformed Church, which houses Brooklyns oldest congregation that traces itself straight back to 1654. Old Firsts Upper Hall, with its exceptional acoustics, was designed by architect George Morse in 1887 and built by craftsmen. It is perfectly suited for early music, and is considered an underground treasure among local musicians.
