A Summer Soiree
Brattleboro Area Hospice is delighted to announce an upcoming garden party event and gathering that will take place on Friday, June 22nd from 4:30 7:30 PM, in the gardens of Cyndy Fine, of Genius Loci, Ecological Landscape Design, at 3293 Route 5, Westminster Village, Vermont. The event will feature the opportunity to explore one of the region's most spectacular summer gardens in full bloom, to appreciate an assortment of short musical pieces, while enjoying light refreshments in great company.
For this fine occasion The 2-Bit 2-Man Froggy-Went-A'Courtin' Orchestra, (Ron-Boslun and Walter Slowinski), will be playing tunes from the well-known and well-loved folk-gospel repertoire complete with good-humored vocal harmonization, clarinet im-provisation, and mandolin accompaniment.
Participants will be transported back to a quieter time as Renaissance and Baroque musicians Laurie Rabut, Lucy McLellan and Chris Rua fill the gardens with lyrical English Country Dance tunes and Waltzes played on Baroque violin, viols and record-ers.
And the Hallowell singers will offer songs in four- part harmony to inspire and open the heart. From joyful to reverent, these songs have been sung around the bedsides of the dying or in the living rooms of homes where family gathered to support a loved one at the end of life. The event will also offer an informal atmosphere to learn more about the work of Brattleboro Area Hospice in the region and how to get involved. Friends, volunteers and staff of the organization will be in attendance to circulate and talk to attendees about the work and what it means to them.
Admission to the event is $30 per person or $50 for two people attending together. Tickets can be purchased at the event or ahead of time. Proceeds of this event will directly benefit the programs and services of Brattleboro Area Hospice that are provided free of charge. For questions about handicap accessibility call Andrea Livermore at 802-257-0775 ext. 109.
