Unison Festival Unisson 2018 kicks off in style with an Opening Concert that will be a feast for the eyes and ears!
Host choirs Calgary Mens Chorus, One Voice Chorus, and the BarberEllas take the stage to welcome everyone to Calgary. To close the concert, they are joined by Mount Royal Artio, forming a massed choir over 100 voices strong, with guest soloists Laura Hynes and Chenelle Roberts, the School of Alberta Ballet, and a collaborative Indigenous/non-Indigenous company that includes story-tellers, Indigenous drummers, and a special surprise a breath-taking spectacle that will be the talk of the Festival!
Following the concert, enjoy finger foods and cocktails in the lobby of the Bella Concert Hall.

Unison Festival Unisson is a Canadian LGBTQ2 choral festival that brings together choirs from across Canada every four years for a non-competitive celebration of choral music in queer community. The 2018 Festival marks 20 years since Edmonton hosted the very first Canadian LGBTQ2 choir festival in 1998. We welcome the festival back to Alberta for this exciting anniversary edition of Unison Festival Unisson with the tagline Be Creative! Over 600 delegates are coming to Calgary from across Canada and parts of the US to take part in the 2018 Festival.
