Suppose An Eyes
Suppose An Eyes is a poetry workshop based at the Kelly Writers House of the University of Pennsylvania. It takes its name from a portrait in Gertrude Steins Tender Buttons. Suppose An Eyes has two main goals: to provide a supportive place for poets to share & improve their writing and to organize readings where poets can present their poetry to the public.
Our group has included poets writing everything from formal to found poetry even computer-generated poetry!
Suppose An Eyes was founded in 1999 and is one of the longest running poetry groups in the Philly area. We have read at bookstores, the Writers House, coffee houses, cemeteries and art galleries. Many of our members have published poems and books of poetry.
We have a diverse membership and welcome poets of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds.
