TWTP presents The Revolutionists, by Lauren Gunderson
Tennessee Women's Theater Project presents the regional premiere of "The Revolutionists." Lauren Gunderson's seriously funny comedic quartet introduces four badass women, trying to navigate the cauldron of political affairs - in the shadow of the guillotine - at the height of the French Reign of Terror. Together they form an unlikely alliance to fight for liberté, égalité - et sororité (liberty, equality - and sisterhood!).
Our cast features Corinne Bupp as Charlotte Corday, soon to be convicted as the murderer of Jean Paul Marat, Corrie Maxwell as Olympe de Gouges, a playwright battling writer's block, Aleta Myles as Marianne Angelle, a free black woman fighting her own revolution in the French colony of Ste. Domingue, and Jennifer Richmond as Marie Antoinette - yes, THAT one.
