SKRUK featuring OIGC Ensemble: Roots from the West
The partnership between Bay Area's award-winning Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir and SKRUK, hailing from Norway as a groundbreaking force in Scandinavian choral music since 1973, came to life in 2015 at the Molde International Jazz Festival.
The project, "Roots," is based around the fact that, despite cultural differences between the American and Norwegian west-coasts, we have common spiritual roots.
The concert will feature SKRUK and a set by the OIGC Ensemble. The latter is set to be a truly exciting unison, and as SKRUK's director Prots says; "a new musical latte!"
We have every reason to believe that this "latte" is something that every audience will enjoy.
This concert is presented by Arts Under the Spire, who works to showcase a variety of musical styles and to become a focal point for quality music offerings to the Oakland community.
