Handmade Bookbinding Workshop!
In this class, with Oakland based weaver + craftsperson Danielle Garber, you will learn a style of bookbinding that you will be able to do on your own again and again. Cutting down all the complexities of standard bookbinding this style will still create a beautiful, sturdy, one of a kind book! All materials are upcycled/salvaged and will be provided. You will assemble your book from scratch choosing the paper, fabric from the inside out and hand stitching in the paper. Come hang, create, share stories, and leave with a one of a kind handmade book!
The class will be held in her Artisan Studio Workspace in West Oakland. We will be surrounded by handmade creations from local women artists, designers, and craftspeople.
The class will take about 3 hours. Tea and light snacks provided.
